Miles McCann is an Associate at Ward & Berry. Miles focuses primarily in Ward & Berry’s government contracts and regulatory practices.
Miles has extensive experience in various areas of government contract law. He has worked bid protests before the Court of Federal Claims and the Government Accountability Office (GAO). He has also represented companies in contract disputes with the Government before both the Civilian Board of Contract Appeals and the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals. His experience extends into private disputes related to government contracting, including representing companies in subcontractor disputes in arbitration.
Miles’ practice also includes regulatory work in the health care sector. Miles advises health care manufacturers and importers on how to comply with the Federal Food, Drug, & Cosmetics Act, including advising clients as they submit 510(k) applications. Miles’ also advises client on post market compliance issues. Additionally, Miles advises clients through the FDA approval process under Emergency Use Authorizations (EUA). Miles regulatory practice involves tracking and understanding the frequent new developments and changes in state and federal regulatory law in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Understanding and identifying these frequent changes is often the difference between a product getting to the market or sitting in storage.
Miles earned his bachelor’s degree in Latin and International Affairs from Boston University, and obtained his Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School. Prior to joining Ward & Berry, Miles clerked for the Honorable Christopher Romanyshyn in New Jersey Superior Court and for the Honorable Mary Ellen Coster Williams in the United States Court of Federal Claims.
Miles is licensed to practice in New Jersey and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. His practice is supervised by D.C. Bar members pursuant to D.C. Court of Appeals Rule 49(c)(8) while his D.C. Bar application is pending.
While Miles lives here in Washington, DC, he was born and raised in New Jersey, and is proud of it. Outside of work, Miles enjoys playing basketball, hiking, watching European soccer, or visiting his family in New Jersey and New York City.
